I watched Eddie perform Eruption for my first time at a backyard party in Pasadena back in 1976. It changed my entire perception of rock guitar playing and consider the part at 5:55 to be the most beautiful guitar moment I've ever heard. I've seen Eruption many times live since including the farewell Pasadena Civic concert in 78 and the US Festival performance in 83. It just kept getting better and longer. Eddie is the best guitarist in my lifetime and was loved by many. May he R.I.P.

This performance from Megadeths drummer just makes you want to hear the original performed with the double bass addition.. That would be cool. At least in a live setting.. Wonder if The Killers themselves will take it on for their own perfomance of it. Give it a slight fresh taste.... Megadeth are an incredible band.. To be a member requires you to be top of your game. Those that dont have that.. Dont last.. Dirk has been there for 8 years going on 9.. He has no sign of going anywhere.. Hes very much a key piece to their sound today. His dynamics in the creative process as you can see is very high end and very details focused.. Megadeth lost their second longest serving guitarist in Kiko very recently.. Kiko wanted to focus on raising his family now at this point in his life.. He had young children. His new replacement is Teemu.. Teemu is a lot like Dirk but for guitar.. He is very highly skilled.. And details focused. To play Megadeth music requires that A game.. Nothing else is acceptable for fans at this stage in their long career of delivering cutting edge relevant music.. Dave Mustaine is the founder of the band its main funnel of ideas.. He has high demands himself.. Its how he has gotten a career of this high level of playing across his career.. Megadeth is over 40 years old itself as a band.. In Teemus case the band is older than he is.. Which is a new one.. There are very few bands that can galvanise fans and continuously expand to new people with new music that far in... Megadeth is 16 albums in and has more on the horizon.. Possibly as soon as next year on album 17.. Dirks second and Teemus first so much interest just from that angle but also because of some of the stuff members of the band have said going into the next record. Worth paying attention to Megadeth developments over the next year.

Elephant Revival is known for their Neo Folk/ Blue Grass music! I love how they respectfully pay tribute to other bands by covering their songs with their style yet keeping the core of the originals. Their cover of Pink Floyd’s “Have a Cigar” is definitely worth a listen! Bonnie’s voice cannot be replicated. She’s amazing!

I was there that summer, for nine days, and this song brings back such memories of the girl on the boat and the dazzling blonde in the white dress at the Lyons Tea stand, watching me for the last 20 yards of my walk toward her. Oh to be young in Copenhagen in that year, the famous "Summer of Love."
